Tecoma stans (Yellow Trumpet Flower)

The Yellow Trumpet Flower (Tecoma stans) is one species from the family Bignoniaceae.

The origin of the yellow trumpet flower reachs from Mexico to Peru. Today it is cultivated as an ornamental in the tropicals worldwide.

The yellow trumpet flower grows as evergreen shrub or small tree, and reachs growth sizes of 20 to 30 feet. The opposite leaves are unpaired pinnate, with 3 to 12 sawed, 3.2 to 4 inches long pinnate leaves.

The golden yellow flowers are in clusters on the tops of the branches, which are bell-shaped, funnel-shaped, five-lobed (where slightly double lipped), in the gullet often reddish veins  and 1.4 to 3.4 inches long.

The fruits are forming from two carpels and are slender pods, which are up to 10 inches long and contain winged seeds.
