Musa 'Preciosa'

Musa 'Preciosa' is one cultivar of Prata type, which is resistant against Black Sigatoka, Yellow Sigatoka and Panama Disease. It is a tetraploid hybrid of the group AAAB, appeared from one cross between the cultivar Musa 'Pacovan' and the diploid hybrid M53 (AA). The most of the features, both for development and yield, are similar to Musa 'Pacovan' (Prata mutant). The fruits of this new cultivar are resistant against the fruit falling like Musa 'Pacovan'. It beats Musa 'Pacovan' by far in the resistance against Yellow Sigatoka, Black Sigatoka and Panama Disease.
