Plinia jabuticaba (Jabuticaba Sabará)

Small, up to 30 feet tall tree from the genus Plinia and from the family Myrtaceae, native to Minas Geraís, São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro in Brazil, the young leaves are reddish and the tree is semi-deciduous what differs the species from Plinia cauliflora, the leaves are somewhat smaller. The tiny white flowers appear in spring and summer on the branches and the trunks, the small spherical black berries ripen in fall. They can be eaten in-natura or used for the production of juices and jams like Plinia cauliflora.

Our specimen stands in the front of the both Plinia cauliflora and was only recognized by Emilene, the wife of Helton, best thanks to her.
