Musa 'Japira' is one cross between Musa 'Pacovan'  from the group AAB and Musa 'M53'  from the group AA, it is tetraploid (AAAB), it was bred in Brazil. It similars tot Musa 'Prata',  but has a bit more, larger and thicker fruits, is resistant against Black Sigatoka, Yellow Sigatoka and Panama Disease. One very valuable new cultivar from Brazil, earns a more wider spreading!
