COMMENTS: MAGENTIFIC ARAÇÁ TREE, ORIGINATED TO THE ATLANTIC COASTAL FOREST IN SOUTHEASTERN BRAZIL. THE TRUNK IS SMOOTH LIKE JABOTICABA, THE FOLIAGE IS PERSISTANT AND THE FRUITS ARE OF THE RED COLOR AND OF GOOD TASTE. GROWS TO 8 M TALL, SUITABLE FOR PLACES AND LARGE GARDENS. THE FRUITS RIPEN IN MARCH AND APRIL AND THE PLANT SHOULD NOT MISSED IN THE MYRTACEACE COLLECTION.
