Duranta erecta (Pigeon Berry)

 

One 1 2/3 to 6 2/3 feet (0.50 to 2 m) tall shrub from the genus Duranta and from the family Verbenaceae, flowers with small skyblue flowers and bears orange-yellow berries, which are inedible or poisionous. Its distribution area reachs from Texas and California over Mexico and West Indies to South America. It is mainly grown as hedge plant in Brazil, also in our garden.
