Fast growing, evergreen, sprawling tree from the genus Bombacopsis and the family Malvaceae to 67 feet with at the base thickening and retentive trunk and long pediculated, handshaped, large, glossy medium- to darkgreen foliage, formed by to 9 feathered leaves. The creamy colored blossoms with long, narrow, back-strucked petals and countless far outstanding filaments with red top are appearing at the terminals of the branches, these are followed by edible to one feet long fruits (nuts).
