Aloe striatula (Aloe)

Succulent plant from the family Asphodelaceae, originated in South Africa. Even in the mildest regions in Germany it is hardy, on the red North Sea island Heligoland our outplant trials were successfully. If the place totally dry, it will take temperatures down to 10° (-12ēC). Here it is also used as medicinal plant to heal wounds like Aloe vera.

Aloe striatula in December 2009.
